Washington, DC, police closed a sexual assault investigation into Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer’s husband after federal prosecutors found no indication of a crime, a police spokesperson confirmed.
Shawn DeRemer was accused of sexually assaulting at least two female US Labor Department staffers, a person familiar with the situation told Bloomberg Law on Friday.
The allegations, first reported by the New York Times, added to controversies surrounding the labor secretary, who faces her own misconduct investigation from the Labor Department’s inspector general.
