Planned Parenthood of Greater New York and multiple board members allegedly subjected its Black chief operating officer to race discrimination through a disproportionate number of background checks and negative stereotypes, according to a new lawsuit.
Samuel Ricardo Mitchell Jr., the first Black male on PPGNY’s executive leadership team, was held to a different standard than other employees that was “stained with racist overtones,” he said in the complaint filed in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York Tuesday.
