Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Publisher Loses Health Insurance Appeal

PG Publishing Co. lost its challenge to a labor arbitration award that requires it to make retroactive payments for health benefits and to reimburse Pittsburgh Post-Gazette employees for out-of-pocket costs, according to a Tuesday Third Circuit ruling.

The company didn’t file a proper motion under the Federal Arbitration Act, and its attempt to contest the award under Section 301 of the Labor Management Relations Act was filed too late, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit said.
