Pipeline Companies Settle Harassment, Retaliation Suit With EEOC

Four oil and gas pipelines companies operating in New Mexico and Texas will pay $1,750,000 and provide other relief to settle a harassment and retaliation lawsuit, the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission announced Monday.

Plains Pipeline L.P., Plains All American GP LLC, Plains Marketing L.P., and Copperhead Pipeline and Construction Inc. allegedly subjected six original complainants and ten additional male oil pipeline workers to harassment based on race, national origin, and sex. The companies also allegedly retaliated against the men for complaining, or associating with coworkers who complained, by firing them, the agency said.
