Pilots Nab First Court Nod for Training Cost Reimbursement Deal

A former Ameriflight LLC pilot convinced a federal judge for permission to move forward with a settlement resolving allegations that the company improperly required ex-workers to repay training costs.

The deal provides $425,000 for more than 50 workers and includes a commitment from the cargo flight company to forego collection of the pilots’ unpaid training balances, according to settlement documents filed in the US District Court for the Northern District of Texas. Judge Brantley Starr granted the deal preliminary approval Thursday.
