Philly Home Care Agency Must Pay $7 Million Over Wage Violations

A Philadelphia home care agency and its owner have been ordered to hand over more than $7 million in back wages and liquidated damages for willfully failing to pay 1,230 employees overtime, the Labor Department said Friday.

A Pennsylvania federal court judge found Nursing Home Care Management Inc., operating as Prestige Home Care Agency, and its owner, Alexander Dorfman, violated the Fair Labor Standards Act by failing to include time for work-related travel when calculating employee wages.
