Philadelphia Eagles offensive tackle Lane Johnson’s final ditch efforts to have his 2014 10-game suspension overturned came to an end Aug. 2 when a federal judge nixed his remaining claims against the NFL’s players union.
Johnson was suspended from play after he tested positive for performance enhancing drugs. An arbitrator upheld the suspension. Johnson then claimed that the NFL Management Council violated its collective bargaining agreement with the NFL Players Association, and that the NFLPA violated its duty of fair representation and duty to provide documents during arbitration.
