Pfizer to Pay $2 Million to Settle Sex-Based Pay Bias Claims (1)

Pfizer, Inc. has agreed to pay $2 million in back wages and interest to 86 female employees to settle federal allegations that it discriminated against them in their compensation, the US Labor Department announced.

A compliance review the DOL’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs conducted from 2015-2016 found that Pfizer discriminated against women working at the pharmaceutical giant’s New York City headquarters by paying them less than comparable male employees, the agency said Monday.
