A former assistant public defender for the County of Delaware in Pennsylvania failed to show that the county unlawfully terminated him because of his age, a federal district court said.
John Baldini, who lost his job just before turning 60, couldn’t demonstrate that the county violated the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, which prohibits employers from firing or discriminating against an employee based on age, Judge Michael M. Baylson of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania said in a Wednesday opinion granting the county summary judgment.
