Pending H-1B Rules Appear Withdrawn From White House Review (2)

A pair of rules to overhaul which jobs qualify for an H-1B specialty occupation visa, and how wages for those jobs are set, appear to have been withdrawn from White House regulatory review.

Both measures are part of the administration’s goal of creating a merit-based system for non-immigrant workers by bringing in the “best and the brightest” and prioritizing visas for individuals who have been offered the highest wages, senior administration officials said on a call with reporters in June.
