Pastors’ Suit Against Civil Rights Agency’s LGBT Stance on Hold

A lawsuit brought by a nonprofit group of Christian pastors and a healthcare company over the EEOC’s pursuit of LGBT discrimination cases on sex bias grounds will be put on hold as the Supreme Court takes up a related question.

The U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas granted the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s request to stay the case Dec. 3, pending the Supreme Court’s decision on whether Title VII’s sex discrimination ban also prohibits discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.
