Parexel Denied Noncompete Injunction Against Signant, Ex-Execs

Parexel International LLC was denied a preliminary injunction that would have prevented its former director from running clinical trials at purported competitor Signant Health.

Whether Parexel and Signant are competitors is disputed, the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts said, so extending former senior director Ruben Ceballos’ noncompete to his work at Signant may render it overly broad. The court also denied the injunction on trade secret grounds because it’s unclear whether Signant has obtained trade secrets Ceballos allegedly downloaded shortly before departing.
