Paralegal Advances Suit Over Staffing Client CEO’s Harassment

Luxor Staffing Inc. must face a lawsuit by a female Black Latina paralegal over alleged sexual and racial harassment by the CEO of the client at which it placed her, a Nashville federal judge ruled.

The decision Wednesday by the US District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee highlights an issue that’s sown confusion in the Sixth Circuit: whether the relatively tougher standard for plaintiffs to make out a prima facie case of discrimination also applies to hostile work environment claims under Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act.
