Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen Sued Over Tip-Credit Wage Practices

Pappadeaux Seafood Kitchen faces accusations it underpaid bartenders and servers nationwide by taking a tip-credit from their hourly pay, while not fully complying with federal and state wage rules, according to a new lawsuit filed in federal court in Ohio.

Plaintiff Heather Shelton, who worked as a server at a Pappadeaux’s location in Cincinnati, filed the suit against the restaurant chain’s owners on behalf of other similarly situated tipped employees under the Fair Labor Standards Act and Ohio law.
