Papa John’s Wins Arbitration of No-Poach Rule Combo Class Action

Papa John’s prevailed in its efforts to send to arbitration a combined proposed class action in Kentucky federal court challenging “no-poach” language in the pizzeria’s franchise agreements.

Papa John’s successfully convinced Judge Joseph H. McKinley Jr. of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Kentucky that claims by Jamiah Greer, a named plaintiff and former employee, were covered by the parties’ arbitration agreement. The ruling comes more than six months after Papa John’s sought to have the case dismissed or sent to arbitration.
