Papa John’s Pizza has agreed to pay $175,000 and provide additional relief to settle a disability discrimination lawsuit, the EEOC announced Monday.
The international pizza chain allegedly denied a blind hire’s accommodation request for his service dog to accompany him to work at an Athens, Ga., store. Papa John’s then allegedly fired the employee before he was able to work his first shift.
Such alleged conduct violates the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission said. Per the two-year consent decree resolving the lawsuit, Papa John’s will train its employees on the ADA and review its employment policies ...
