Panera, Worker Headed to Trial Over Who Signed Arbitration Pact

A trial is needed to determine whether a neopaganist former baker at a Panera cafe in suburban Pittsburgh signed an arbitration agreement during the on-boarding process followed by the location’s owner, a federal judge ruled Monday.

According to Pan American Group, Tammy McCoy must have signed the pact because she applied through a third-party job posting site and would have been redirected to talentReef, the management system it uses for job applicants. That’s the only way it would have received McCoy’s applications when she was hired in February 2019 and rehired in October 2019, Pan American says.
