Panera Bread is facing accusations that it manipulated workers’ timesheets to avoid paying overtime wages in a new lawsuit filed in a federal court in Buffalo.
The proposed class and collective action was brought by Chimon’e Killings, who worked at Panera in Amherst, N.Y., under the Fair Labor Standards Act and New York law.
Killings seeks to represent other hourly workers, including baristas, cashiers, and bakers, in a state-law class and nationwide FLSA collective. Panera currently operates more than 2,000 locations, including 115 in New York.
