More than 100 business and industry groups are urging the U.S. Department of Labor to seek public input before it releases a highly anticipated rule to update overtime pay regulations that is expected to extend time-and-a-half wages to more workers.
Previous administrations held stakeholder meetings when updating federal overtime pay eligibility rules, and the agency would benefit from receiving feedback on how a proposed rule change could affect the economy, the groups—including the National Retail Federation and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce—said in a letter to Labor Secretary Marty Walsh.
