The comment period for the first national workplace heat-stress prevention proposal will be extended by 15 days, according to a notice published by the Labor Department Wednesday.
The US Occupational Safety and Health Administration extended the comment period to Jan. 14, 2025, according to the notice, which will be published in the Federal Register Nov. 29. The initial comment period for the proposed heat-prevention standard had been set to end during the holiday season on Dec. 30.
OSHA agreed to the extension after several stakeholders noted their personal holiday schedules made finalizing submissions difficult.
