OSHA Announces Final Rule on Reporting Workplace Injuries Needing Hospitalization

Under a new final rule, employers must begin complying with new workplace injury and illness reporting requirements starting Jan. 1, the Labor Department’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration announced Sept. 11.

Additionally, employer reports for some serious injuries and all deaths will be posted online at OSHA’s public website, agency administrator David Michaels said during a news conference that day about implementing the new record-keeping rule (RIN 1218-AC50).
