Oracle Vows Changes After U.S. Alleged It Favors Hiring Asians

Accused by the Trump administration of a “an extreme preference” for hiring immigrant visa holders, Oracle Corp. pledged to diversify its recruitment on college campuses.

The Silicon Valley giant’s commitment to address an alleged pattern of “under-hiring of non-Asians” resolves part of a workplace discrimination case brought by the U.S. Labor Department. Oracle continues to fight the agency’s claims that it systematically underpaid female and minority workers for years and owes them more than $400 million in wages.
