Optum Allegedly Blocked, Retaliated Against Woman Seeking COO Job (1)

ProHEALTH Medical Management LLC’s former vice president of operations says in a new discrimination suit her promised promotion to COO fell through because she is a woman.

Tiziana Cacace also alleges the man who got the job forced her to take medical leave and then Optum Inc., the UnitedHealth Group subsidiary that acquired ProHEALTH in 2014, later fired her for complaining about the gender bias and using job-protected medical leave .

Her suit against ProHEALTH and Optum alleges sex discrimination and retaliation under New York state anti-bias law and the federal Family and Medical Leave Act.
