Open Votes on FDA, Wage Chief Picks to Public, GOP Senator Says

Indiana Republican Sen. Mike Braun is pushing the Senate health and labor panel to open an upcoming closed-door meeting to consider several nominees for top positions at the U.S. Department of Labor and the Food and Drug Administration.

Braun urged Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee Chair Patty Murray (D-Wash.) in a Tuesday letter to open the meeting to the public or find a way to do a livestream, because the panel “will consider nominations of great significance to the everyday life of Americans.”
