Oncor Illegally Fired Worker for Testimony, Labor Board Rules

A utility company in Texas violated federal labor law by firing a union worker for his testimony raising safety concerns about smart meters that report electricity usage, the National Labor Relations Board ruled.

Former Oncor Electric Delivery Co. employee Bobby Reed retained the protection of the National Labor Relations Act when he testified before state lawmakers, a divided NLRB held Friday in a case that’s over a decade old.
