Older IBM Workers Cite Al Tool Reliance in Age Bias Lawsuit (1)

International Business Machines Corp. unlawfully cut short the decades-long careers of two human resource employees because they were 60 or older to make room for younger workers as the company relies more on artificial intelligence tools to conduct certain HR tasks, a lawsuit in New York federal court alleged.

Pamela Wimbish, 62, and Patricia Onken, 66, are the latest to lodge age discrimination allegations against IBM stemming from its alleged push to oust older workers in a series of layoffs while replacing them with younger and “less experienced” workers.
