Older Allstate Manager to Get Trial on Age Discrimination Claim

Allstate Insurance Co.‘s potentially “exaggerated or untrue” reasons for firing a marketing manager in his 60s, its replacing him with someone much younger at a higher salary, and other evidence could prove age bias really spurred his discharge, the Northern District of Illinois ruled.

The other evidence includes William Maxey’s supervisor Ken Kirsten allegedly making comments that Maxey was “old,” “stuck in the past,” and unwilling to consider new things, the court said.
