Ohio Passes Bill Letting Teens Work Later During School Year

Ohio would relax its child labor restrictions to allow 14- and 15-year-olds to work later hours during the school year with a parent’s permission, under legislation sent to Gov. Mike DeWine (R) for his approval.

The bill (SB 50) loosens the state’s current ban on teens younger than 16 working past 7 p.m. when schools are in session.
