The Labor Department’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs May 7 placed a five-year moratorium on agency enforcement activities regarding medical providers that are subcontractors in TRICARE, the Defense Department’s health care program for active and retired military members.
The agency’s action was expected, as Labor Secretary Thomas Perez in a March 11 letter to Congress said the OFCCP would close all open and scheduled compliance reviews of TRICARE providers and conduct “extensive outreach and technical assistance” to those providers regarding their affirmative action and equal employment opportunity obligations under Executive Order 11,246, the Rehabilitation Act and the Vietnam-Era Veterans ...
