President Obama Feb. 16 announced his intent to nominate Erica L. Groshen as commissioner of the Labor Department’s Bureau of Labor Statistics.
Groshen, an economist, is a vice president in the Research and Statistics Group at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, where she has worked since 1994. If confirmed by the Senate, Groshen would fill a vacancy created when previous BLS Commissioner Keith Hall’s term expired Jan. 12 (19 DLR A-12, 1/30/12).
