NYC’s Success Charter Schools Push Into Florida With Griffin Aid

Success Academies, the New York City charter network, is expanding to Florida following a billionaire-backed lobbying spree to secure key funding and real estate.

The organization is looking to open 40 schools in a 10-year period, starting in the 2027-28 school year, according to Success founder and Chief Executive Officer Eva Moskowitz.

A board will be created with private support expected from existing Success donors who live in the state, including billionaire Ken Griffin, whose firm Citadel helped lobby state lawmakers on behalf of the network. Success is looking for office space for the team that will work ...
