NYC Teachers’ Covid Vaccination, Free Speech Case Fails Again

New York City, its Department of Education, and former Mayor Bill de Blasio beat free speech, equal protection, and due process claims brought by teachers and staff who sought religious exemptions to the city’s Covid-19 vaccination mandate, after a federal court in New York ruling.

The 21 plaintiffs, composed of DOE teachers, administrators, and other staff, refused to be vaccinated and sued the city after their religious exemption applications were denied.
