A former principal provided enough proof of disability bias to take some claims against the New York City Department of Education to trial, but she lacks evidence of religious discrimination.
There are genuine factual disputes over whether a superintendent extended the principal’s probationary period because she took medical leave and denied her tenure because she made internal bias complaints, the US District Court for the Eastern District of New York said. However, the educator failed to show that her employer failed to hire her an assistant because she’s Jewish, the opinion filed Tuesday said.
