New York City’s public hospital system must defend against disability bias allegations from a worker fired after she delayed Covid-19 vaccination while undergoing medical treatment.
The former assistant cost accounting director sufficiently alleged her anemia counts as a disability under federal bias law, the US District Court for the Southern District of New York said. She also adequately pleaded that her job with New York City Health & Hospitals Corp. didn’t require in-person work while she waited for her doctor to clear her for vaccination, the Monday opinion said.
