NYC Construction Companies Agree to $1.2M Wage Order

A New York City construction contractor and one of its subcontractors have agreed to a settlement for $1.2 million in back wages to be paid to 63 workers on a federally funded street reconstruction project in lower Manhattan, the Labor Department announced (In re Judlau Contracting Inc., Dep’t of Labor A.L.J., No. 2016-DBA-00010, consent order 11/8/16).

A prevailing wage investigation found that Judlau Contracting Inc., the general contractor on the project, and its subcontractor, Network of Patrols Inc., had underpaid workers between August 2010 and September 2013, the department said in announcing the settlement Nov. 21. ...
