NY1 Using Emmys to Retaliate for Bias Suit, Ex-Anchors Say (1)

New York One television station owner Charter Communications is refusing to submit Emmy Award nominations for five female news anchors who worked for the station before settling their age and sex discrimination lawsuit, the journalists told the New York City Commission on Human Rights.

Former anchors Roma Torre, Kristen Shaughnessy, Jeanine Ramirez, Vivian Lee, and Amanda Farinacci want Charter and its Spectrum News unit to stop the retaliation, they said Monday in a complaint to the commission. Emmy submissions are due Feb. 15, they said.
