NY1 Producer Must Arbitrate Sex Harassment Case Against Charter

A former producer of the NY1 show “On Stage” must arbitrate her claims that she was fired for refusing her boss’s sexual overtures and for resisting Charter Communications Inc.'s discrimination against other female employees, the Southern District of New York ruled.

And an arbitrator must decide which of two agreements the arbitration must proceed under—the one Karin Garfin agreed to when she was hired in June 2017, or a second agreement Charter distributed that October, right around the time Garfin’s employment with the company ended, the court said.
