New York is set to tweak new laws restricting the use of workers’ credit histories in personnel decisions and contracts requiring employees to repay job training expenses when leaving a role within a certain timeframe.
State lawmakers have approved measures revising the credit history (S8789) and training repayment (A9452) measures enacted in December. The bills go next to Gov. Kathy Hochul (D), who negotiated the changes or “chapter amendments” with legislators before signing last year’s related bills into law.
