A New York City-based real estate management firm that leases commercial office space violated federal labor law by terminating a building engineer in retaliation for his organizing efforts, the National Labor Relations Board ruled.
The NLRB on Thursday unanimously affirmed an administrative law judge’s decision finding Acumen Capital Partners LLC violated the National Labor Relations Act in firing Gregory Zapata, who was organizing a campaign with an International Union of Operating Engineers affiliate.
