A Riverside, Calif., skilled nursing facility has agreed to pay $865,000 and furnish additional relief to settle a race discrimination lawsuit, the EEOC announced Thursday.
Orange Treeidence OPCO LLC, doing business as Riverwalk Post-Acute, Providence Group Inc., and Providence Administrative Consulting Services Inc., allegedly allowed a class of Black employees to be subjected to racial harassment by residents, co-workers, and a supervisor.
The harassment included repeated race-based remarks and slurs directed at staff. Employees were allegedly told to tolerate the abusive comments.
Such alleged conduct violates Title VII of the 1964 Civil Rights Act, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission said. ...
