Members of a union representing more than 11,700 registered nurses working at University of California hospitals and student health centers overwhelmingly ratified a tentative agreement with the university, the union announced Nov. 27.
“This is a contract we can be proud of—no takeaways, no two-tier pension and some real gains that will aid our fight for the highest standard of patient care into the future,” Janice Webb, a registered nurse at UC San Diego and chair of the California Nurses Association UC Statewide Bargaining Council, said in a statement from the union.
