Nurses Sue Disaster-Relief Staffing Firm Over Quarantine Pay

Disaster-relief staffing agency Krucial Staffing LLC was hit with a suit in the Southern District of New York alleging the company violated the Family and Medical Leave Act by failing to provide nurses with paid sick leave for time they were in quarantine after deployment.

The complaint alleges the company made promises to pay for quarantining for two weeks after deployment, but that each plaintiff “was stiffed on this pay.”

The eleven plaintiffs, who worked as nurses for Krucial Staffing, allege the company violated the Emergency Paid Sick Leave Act, passed as part of the FMLA, which provides that employees ...
