Nurses in New York Strike Over Staffing, Masks as Covid Surges

Nurses in suburban New York walked off the job for a second straight day Wednesday after failing to reach agreement with hospital management over Covid-19 precautions, a day after more than 1,000 caregivers at a hospital in the state’s capital staged a one-day strike.

A group of 200 nurses returned to the picket lines at Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital near New York City, prompting management to transfer patients to other facilities.
