The Republican-controlled NLRB has the chance to impose stronger prohibitions on labor organization and employer conduct by restricting solicitation of mail ballots during union elections, an issue that’s taken on greater importance due to the pandemic preventing in-person votes.
Professional Transportation Inc. raised the solicitation issue in its request that the NLRB set aside the results of an election in which its workers selected a United Electrical, Radio, and Machine Workers of America affiliate as their exclusive bargaining representative. The case is pending at the National Labor Relations Board.
