The National Labor Relations Board rejected a healthcare staffing company’s request to review an agency official’s decision permitting a union election, in an order that divided the board’s Republican members.
Sharp Staffing Resources Network failed to properly raise an argument that the NLRB’s healthcare rule doesn’t presumptively authorize the unit of its employees to vote, the board said in a 2-1 ruling Tuesday.
The employees chose to unionize on a 31-0 vote while the company’s request to review the NLRB regional director’s decision that directed the election was still pending.
