NLRB Pulls Out Big Guns for Fire Protection Firm’s Violations

The National Labor Relations Board upheld a ruling against an Illinois fire protection firm while adding several enhanced remedies aimed at fixing the harm caused by the company’s slew of serious unfair labor practices.

Atlantic American Fire Protection Co. must bargain with the union it tried to bust for at least four six-hour negotiation sessions per month, the NLRB said in a decision Thursday. The company also must submit written bargaining progress reports every 15 days until it and the union reach a deal, decide to take a break in talks, or come to an impasse.
