NLRB Orders ‘Hungry Like the Wolf’ Restaurant to Rehire Workers

A 1980’s-themed Texas restaurant and bar must rehire eight employees who were unlawfully fired for walking out of a staff meeting, the National Labor Relations Board ruled.

The move by servers and other staff to leave a meeting at Hungry Like the Wolf in Houston was considered protected concerted activity, the board held in its decision Monday.

The staff went on the collective strike in September 2022 when managers began yelling at female workers over their complaints of harassment. Their firings constituted unlawful retaliation, according to the decision.
