NLRB Must Delay New Joint-Employer Rule, Republican Senator Says

Sen. Mike Braun (R-Ind.) asked the National Labor Relations Board to delay the implementation of a new joint-employer rule that’s scheduled to go into effect Feb. 26, citing ongoing challenges to the regulation in Congress and the courts.

The NLRB rule would make it easier for multiple companies to be jointly liable for labor law violations and be jointly required to bargain with employee unions. It has drawn fierce opposition from multiple business groups, particularly in the franchise industry, who say it would drive up costs and take away jobs.
