NLRB Issues Guidance for Union Voting Amid Pandemic (Corrected)

The National Labor Relations Board has created a set of suggested protocols for agency employees to apply when administrating in-person unionization elections during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.

The guidance from general counsel Peter Robb was issued late Monday night as the virus surges across the U.S. south and southwest.

Among those protocols:

  • Imposition of plexiglass barriers between voters and board staff;
  • certifications from the employer that the polling area is spacious and consistently cleaned in accordance with Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines:
  • that the polling site includes markings to enforce social distancing;
  • and that individuals participating haven’t tested ...
