NLRB Hits Electric Company With Remedies for Failing to Bargain

The National Labor Relations Board has issued rare remedies and a bargaining order in a case against a New Mexico electrical company.

The NLRB ruled Thursday that Columbus Electric Cooperative failed to bargain in good faith with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, affirming findings from a 2022 administrative law judge decision. On top of the bargaining order issued by the judge, the board also ordered CEC to submit progress reports of the contract negotiations to the agency every 30 days until the parties reach an agreement.
